The New Balance 1224 will have a limited run, and only is available for a 9 month period, until this model is again updated to the 1225. You should definitely try the 1224 while they are out. They are the best this line has had, and the TS-2 supports system and double-layer of Abzorb®, both above and below the sole, makes this the smoothest ride out there.

The New Balance 1063 is a smash hit. They are light, and also have a double layer of Abzorb®. The Abzorb® displaces the shock so it feels like you're running on clouds. The phantom cocona liner adds a natural layer of protection. The cocona helps wick away moisture to keep your feet drier and the shoes lighter and cleaner. This shoe has now received Runner's World Best Update seal of approval in their Spring 2009 Running Shoe Guide.

The New Balance 993 heritage shoe is true to its roots. Combining the dual density support unit with a ton of cushioning, these again provide a true confident fit. Many 990 and 991 wearers felt the 992 was a little too loose on their feet, but the new 993 feels incredible, and reminds 991 wearers of their old favorites. This series has been the number 1 selling running shoe at our store for 10 years in a row.

We aren't quite as pleased with the new 769. The PL-1 last means the generous toe box of the 768s is gone, and the Abzorb® cushioning isn't as bouncy feeling as you toe off. The support system is still excellent, and at about $40 less than the 1224, they remain a bargain.

Going Fast

The 926 walking shoes have become a necessity and a savior for larger people who need the most support they can get in a shoe. We have many podiatrists who think that the 926 is the best model for people with many different foot maladies, and the rigid sole unit is perfect when flexibility is more a hindrance than a help.

The black and white 926 are being discontinued and the new 927s will be here no later than March 1st. The nubuck brown, brown leather, gray suede and velcro 926s will continue to be sold until the end of August.
